Secondary devices for remembrances is ‘the rewriting’ of one girl’s diary which was thrown away. The diary entries of others and the trivial daily lives of the contents were rewritten by me. On the course of that, I have deleted some contents of those entries or added my own private affairs to them. Other memories came to be changed un-intact. I changed the date, circumstances, affairs related to friends of those entries intentionally, it turned one girl’s diary into a combination of our lives. As a result, the original memories of the girl came to be so far behind those when first uncovered. The pronoun ‘I’ of the diary entries represent the girl who is the original owner of the picked-up diary and also others who belong to the different time zones and spaces who can reflect upon her.
<기억보조 장치>에서 나는 타인의 과거와 기억들이 담긴 버려진 일기장을 모아 그들의 일기를 나의 ‘글쓰기’로 빌어 다시 쓰는 행위를 한다. 타인의 기억은 나의 글쓰기 행위로 인해 결코 쉽게 읽히지 않는 일기들로 변형된다. 이것은 타인의 기억 속에 존재하는 날짜, 그들의 주변 상황, 친구들과의 일들이 뒤엉켜서 오히려 나의 현재의 글쓰기 행위를 통해 소멸되고 사라져 가는 것을 나타내고자 함이다. 이야기 속에 등장하는 ‘나’라는 인칭 대명사는 내가 주운 일기장 주인을 가리킴과 동시에 그녀와 다른 공간 다른 시간을 보내고 그녀를 반추하는 사람들 각자를 일컫는 말이기도 하다.
